Servicing Explained

Confused, which service do I need, can you service all makes of car, will servicing my new vehicle affect my warranty?

We can service all makes of vehicle, but specialise in Renaults, over the last couple of years the servicing requirements stipulated by Renault have changed. Since 2001 service intervals were at a stipulated mileage or every 2 years.

At the begining of January 2006; Renault reverted to annual servicing and dependant on your engine type 9,000, 12,000 or 18,000 mileage intervals.

Main dealer prices for servicing vary countrywide, dependant on market conditions, building and staffing costs. As a main dealer, the manufacturer expects specific standards to be met, not neciserily just working standards, but also such things as showroom floor colour, correct signage, the correct ceiling tiles, a certain amount of courtesy cars, a car wash for every customer e.t.c.  This is all well and good and creates continuity throughout the dealer network, unfortunatley someone has to pay for it all and that cost of course is reflected in the labour rate and passed on to the customer.

However, under new block exemption and OFT rules, you can now have your vehicle serviced by an independant garage without affecting your warranty, this is explained at the following link.

It is however, not quite that simple, the garage at which your vehicle is serviced, must be VAT registered and the service must be carried out as stated in the manufacturers service schedule.

All parts used must be genuine Renault parts (or equal in standard to the genuine Renault parts, we are not aware of any test that proves this, so we use genuine parts)

The oil used, must be as required by the manufacturer, so in other words, the correct viscosity needs to be used and it must meet the correct ACEA standard, you cannot just use the cheapest oil on the shelf, many of the newer Renaults now use a fully synthetic oil.

So, you the customer can now choose to have your car serviced by the main dealer or by an independant, the savings can be vast and may be worth traveling some way for, our service prices are all outlined within the rest of our service pages and are divided up as follows:-

Renaults Manufactured 2001 to 2005

Renaults Manufactured 2005 to Jan 2006
